WE ARE MEDVENTIONS

Nurturing tomorrow’s medtech leaders

About the Program

Medventions is Sunnybrook’s grassroots effort to drive medical innovation and nurture Canada’s talent in the healthcare and biomedical sector. Modeled after Stanford Biodesign, Medventions is designed to equip our students and graduates with the skills, tools, experiences, and connections they need to be able to identify, develop, and ultimately translate innovative ideas into products that positively impact healthcare. The program is a transformative experience, expanding knowledge, nurturing problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and inspiring new ideas, creativity, and innovation.

About Medventions and INOVAIT

INOVAIT is a pan-Canada network with a strong industry focus that harnesses breakthroughs in image-guided therapeutics and the power of digital systems, enhanced analytics, and artificial intelligence to advance medical technologies. Established in 2020, INOVAIT is led by the Sunnybrook Research Institute and supported by the Government of Canada’s Strategic Innovation Fund. The network’s mission is to connect, educate, and invest in the industry’s brightest minds and most promising ventures to improve patient outcomes and fuel economic development in Canada.
INOVAIT has partnered with Sunnybrook Research Institute to support the scale-up of Medventions. Through the INOVAIT network, Medventions will expand its fellowship training and establish a multi-provincial medical technology network, image-guided therapy, and artificial intelligence skills training involving critical research, clinical, and industry players.
