Earn a Certificate in Medical Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Facilitated by Medventions Toronto, the Medventions Micro-Certificate Program is unique opportunity to gain foundational knowledge and practical skills in medical technology innovation and entrepreneurship in Canada. The Program is executed through the Medventions Fall Lecture Series which takes place in-person at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. The program is ideal for individuals seeking to deepen their knowledge and gain practical skills in medical technology innovation, entrepreneurship, and commercialization. Those who complete the entirety of the program are awarded a Certificate in Medical Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship. 

To earn the certificate, participants must:

  1. Attend at least 11 in-person sessions
  2. Complete the course capstone project, which includes engagement with clinical mentors at Sunnybrook and participation in the final pitch event
  3. Pay the $300 CAD registration fee

The $300 CAD program fee includes:

  1. Access to 13 expert-led sessions (lectures + hands-on workshops)
  2. Mentorship and team-based project guidance
  3. Curated slide decks, tools, and templates
  4. Invitation to the final capstone pitch event
  5. A digital micro-certificate and LinkedIn credential upon successful completion
  6. Access to the Medventions alumni network

To enroll in the Program, one must Register for the mandatory orientation session (scheduled for Wednesday, September 3) via Eventbrite. Cash payments are not accepted. 

Micro-Certificate Program

The current University of Toronto students enrolled in MBP1408H or MBP1409H and the current Medventions fellows are not required to pay Micro-Certificate Program fee.

Ahmed holds an Adjunct Lecturer appointment at the Department of Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto. Ahmed earned his MD degree from Cairo, Egypt and holds an MBA in healthcare management and technology innovation from Schulich School of Business, York University.
